Sunday (17th) was the Palio Della Balestra in Bagni di Lucca.
It was a day for people to go back to the medieval times and enjoy the life of times gone by.
There were many people dressed in costume and taking part in Crossbow competitions.
Others were riding through the woods of Villa Ada on horseback whilst the guards were putting on an exhibition of early firearms.
The drummers and musicians led the party down from the Villa to the restaurant Del Sonno where the participants had a lengthy banquet before returning to the competition to see who was the best archer on the day.
